I am often asked about how to combat or get rid of Migraines. I myself have heard all kinds of of advice, tricks, tips, tools to get by--almost as if to say that you can't actually be free of chronic headaches.

Here are some things to consider if you're serious about changing your lifestyle to help better supports your needs and eliminates the broken cycles that temporary pain relief such as pills and shots might offer you.

If you're experiencing Headaches, it means you're swimming against the tide.
Everyone's tolerance and threshold for pain or pressure is different but all across the board Migraines and Headaches are as the result of:

Lack of Rest:
You may have a busy life, schedule, demands, children, dependents, responsibilities, obligations that keep you on that go whereas there is no time to recharge yourself.

  • Sleep (strive for the maximum hours of sleep you can get in as possible: the standard is 6-8 hours.) If you're getting 3 hours everyday then it means something needs to change, this is highly dysfunctional on a day to day bases and it leaves room for crashes, outburst, outbreaks, or shutdowns in the body.  Notice your sleep posture. If you tend to toss and turn then chances are you're disrupting the REM Cycle and not allowing your body to fall into that deep trance of state that is most relax and removed.

  • Meditation, brings calm and resolve to the body. Energy, Vibration and Stimuli constantly surrounds us to generate, exhaust and often times waste our energy by finding time for quiet and stillness we allow ourselves to receive rest. By doing this intentionally you signal to the body that this is important and that you are safe.

Lack of Hydration:
  • It's been said before. It's been said quite often. It's true. Most people only sip or gulp a serving of a Water within the course of the day. The standard is at least 6-8 servings or cups in a day!

  • I you're consuming coffee, juice, tea, soda, specialty drinks--please understand that liquid doesn't equate to hydration. The sugars and sodium content dry-out any oxidizing properties that is supposed to be transfer into the body and cell membrane to keep running. Excessive amounts and/or servings of these things weakens the liver and kidneys and when it is needed the most to help individuals fight off conditions, sickness and diseases that creep up on us.

WATER.

An Over-Active Mental State:
  • From the time you rise, until the the time you prepare for bed. You're brain--hardly ever stops. This is what fuels Anxiety, Uncertainty, Emotional Distress, Fatigue and the like. Give yourself a break allow moments for pause, enjoyment, bliss....chill.

  • Be mindful of you're Triggers, what makes you easily fall into those mental crowds or notice rather what you get distracted by. Use your positive affirmation cards [purchase here] to state what you intend to do instead of falling into a trap of familiarity, force of habit or impulse action.

Poor Posture or Alignment:
  • Remember, your body collects, stores and distributes information by way of the Spine using the  nervous system. Check with yourself or have a physician/chiropractor/or specialist about the condition of your body especially if it feels uneven.
  • Be mindful of the hairstyles and head gear, attire or accessory that you choose, this could also be a deterrence of
There are more....but for now.
