Black Girls Health 2019

BeeBodi Marketplace would like to continue to emphasize our mission to grow strong in building relationships with like minds, movements and establishments.

Last year, we joined the Reid Temple's Health Ministries at the 2018 Health Fair, where we connected with the BlackGirlHealth brand kicking off in Harrisburgh, Pennsylvania. They held their (3) Annual Convention on GWCampus at the Marvin Center.

I was welcomed by smiling brown faces with full curly voluptuous hair has they handed me a SWAG bag after confirming my ticket #. Bubbling with excitement I went into the showroom of health, nutrition, cosmetics, travel and consulting businesses. The vibrant GREEN, PINK and PURPLE staples of BlackGirlHealth brand surrounding the square, a vibrant room of energetic vendors and representatives eager to share the creativity of their product, literature or merchandise. Impressive indeed. You can always count on professionalism of a Black Business especially among Females because we know how to target the main points, to tap into the essence of Melanin and address the needs that are already so familiar to sisters... OR may it could be the fuel that generates the success of this businesses is ignited by a love, passion and drive to live out that VISION which has been shorten, stunted or stifled by commitments to all other things. The 21st Century Black Woman is bold. She is willing to say NO, this time around in order to go forth and conquer the impossible, make DREAMS a reality and accomplish her own thing.

And the way that she does it.....she does it so well.
With Style, Grace, Magic, Power and Energy.

I connect with a few of these phenomenal women, with just a short amount of time. Such as Tonya Lovelace. A Recent Survivor or Domestic Violence now turned Warrior....she advocates for the resources and support that many Black or LGBTQAI need when faced with life threatening circumstances such as but not limited to violence in the home.

Together we've concluded that the functioning-dysfunctional lives that adult Women live day-by-day are destroying the homes, disrupting the growth and development of the children and dangerously mask the scars that may take years to heal. She provided with information to educate myself and share with others. And I in turned joined the #mybluelips campaign. The choice color that women are puckering up with to increase Awareness of Domestic Violence in our community. I love it. A form of expression, fashion statement, an funky edge that will draw attention and give one a chance to tell the story after having received a compliment on the look.

Anyone can participate. Follow IG: @thegkbabe to learn more on how you can get involved. All it takes is a willingness to have a little fun and heart to make a difference. Jump right in!!!!

I also discovered a new favorite workout style called "POUND!" It's a combination of coordinating drumming sticks and dancing that helps you perfect your form, get your ENERGY up, increase blood circulation and most of all make you pay attention. This dynamic fusion is great for all Ages! Look for this inclusion in the BeeBodi Marketplace soon.

I ending the date discovering why my choice Brand should be Active-wear and Fitness Line ATHLETA. Not only is the clothing quality, comfortable and easy to care for.....the way that they engage the community to teach classes, offer workshops and becoming brand ambassadors sets them apart from the rest.

Ms. Tiffany our share guide for the day is making it her business at Community Engagement Coordinator to provide opportunities particularly for Women of Color. This what BlackGIRLHealth is all about.

This day was FILLED with free goodies. You most definitely get your monie's worth!

My day of workshops concluded with an intimate talk amongst Single Mothers....hearing their stories, listening to the challenges of raising children on their own~namely boys~ was just what I needed to understand my own mother's struggle. I went home touched, informed, inspired carrying my SWAG Bag with me of goodies, a tea box, t-shirt, snacks, a salt bomb and plenty to read and reflect on. I am GRATEFUL. And look forward to the wonderful things that they have in store next.

I left with a Happy Heart and Warm Belly- a simple and delicious veggie lunch from Panera Bread.

Did I mention the fact the VIVICA A. Fox was there!!!! Is it irony, coincidence or fate....that I read *listened to her audio* book earlier in the Year.

She narrated it herself, which was perfect. No one could've told the story better. I final understood that grit behind her grin, where she was coming from and how she was raised. Her victory and failure moments in Hollywood and the lessons she learned as a Mogul, Great Talent and Actress. She is a real Sister. And oh so very Black.

Vivica made her appearance on the BGH Talk Show.
It was the cutest thing. And of course she looks good at 50 Years OLD.

We're not quite in on the where the show will air but, we wish Founder Porsha Johnson all the best!!!
