BeeBodi Quick Fixes for Winter Sicknesses


While Pharmaceutical Drugs may be convenient to purchase when you're not feeling well, they often lead to harmful side effects that leave you drowsy and unmotivated. Such things as heavy cough syrups are laden with alcohols and sugars which temporarily bring relief and ultimately do not get to the root cause of the issue. Also, the trend of recall on drug store medications are increasing, as there are several drugs of which are not pre-approved by the FDA sitting on the shelves.

Here are some go to remedies for those change of the season Colds, Flu, Headache and Body Aches:



GINGER TONIC: COLD REMEDY

A hand full of Ginger Slices
1/3 of a Lemon
1 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper
3-4 tablespoons of Honey *Raw, Dark or Amber colored
3 cups of Boiling Hot Water
Place all of your ingredients, starting with the Water, in a blender.
Set it to Pureè Mode. Then Liquify.
There will be some hairline ginger remnants left over.

Pour into a mug and sip as you would Tea!
OR 
Allow to cool in the refrigerator in a glass container or jar, sealed. Take it as you in large gulps as you would an Energy Boost Shot! 


MIND CONTROL: HEADACHE REMEDY

2 Green Apples Slices
Bunch of Spinach
1 stick of Celery
1/2 cucumber
1/4 lemon
1 inch of ginger slice *optional

Place all of your ingredients in a blender, starting the Apple. Add 1/2 cup of water and squeeze lemon juice over top. Add in the rest of the ingredients into blender.
Set it to Chop Ice Mode, Pureè and finally Liquify.

Pour into a cup and enjoy!
Allow yourself to digest and take in all the nutrients of your drink before going on to the next task.
This is a perfect opportunity to meditate, pray, or observe a few moments in silence. 

ELDERBERRY SYRUP: FLU REMEDY

2/3 cup of dried elderberries
3 1/2 cups of Water
2 tablespoons of dried ginger
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
a pinch of whole cloves/clove powder
1 cup of raw honey 

Place all ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil *WITHOUT THE HONEY*
Once ingredients are at boiling point, bring heat down to simmer for about 45 minutes.
Liquid will reduce drastically, about half way.
Allow to cool for a few moments; pour over strainer into a glass bowl. Allow the mixture to sit until lukewarm.
Whisk in your honey and it should form a thick syrup like consistency. 
Pour your syrup into a mason jar, or recycled glass container and store in the refrigerator.

Serve a spoon full 2/3 times per day until symptoms have subsided.
For kids, this can also be enjoyed with pancakes or over ice-cream!
