Why GYROKINESIS®?
GYROKINESIS® is for Everyone.
Abled and Disabled Bodies, Young and Old, an Ordinary Moving Body or and Experienced Mover....
Saturday Morning Class at the Elements Center in Upper Georgetown Washington, DC were joined by a Russian Tango Dancer *Natasha with a tall, slender and fit physique alongside Josh, a somewhat experienced mover in the GYROKINESIS® modality.
Throughout each exercise, we emphasized the Breath.
Single Breath, Double Breath, Squeezing Breath and more...
It was refreshing to have participants who were enthusiastic breathers, resounding an echo throughout the room- audible, weighty and full.
With experienced movers, there's a tendency to overexert, to drive the body to it's furtherest point of power to achieve, and yet by regulating the breath one brings attention to the inner workings of the body requiring less effort and more intention.

The breath remained our guide and emphasis throughout the class.

"Well I'm an athlete first and foremost whose always had an interested in the body. I've noticed how practices such as Tai Chi, Martial Arts and GYROKINESIS® has refined my movement. I have more power to execute movement say for instance during a jump shot by using the spring action from within. I've always been interested in this stuff. It makes things better. And also I appreciate the hands-on cuing in GYROKINESIS®. That's all it takes sometimes to brings awareness.....just the slightest adjustments make a difference."
